Courageous Pathways Counseling is a mental health counseling service that provides mental health support to individuals in need. We specialize in trauma, narcissistic abuse, PTSD,  sex informed therapy, and couples counseling.

You can book an appointment by calling or texting our office at 859-379-8338 or by filling out an online booking form on our website. You can also click on book an appointment to go to the secure platform that we use for all clients.

Courageous Pathways Counseling offers a variety of counseling services, including EMDR, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and talk therapy.  I specialize in trauma, PTSD, and C-PTSD, sex informed therapy, and couples counseling. I welcome first responders, veterans, and everyone from all walks of life. Everyone experiences trauma at some point in their life. Let's work through it together.

Cash pay provides more confidentiality. When you use your insurance, it requires a diagnosis, which is recorded for your insurance to pay for your visits. With cash pay, no diagnosis is necessary. You can still ask the counselor if you are curious, but it is not reported to the insurance or recorded anywhere. No outside companies or agencies are involved in your treatment with cash pay, so no one knows about your treatment unless you tell them.

That depends. I know it's not the answer you are looking for. It depends on the modality "such as EMDR versus CPT," we choose; for example, EMDR will look different than CPT. Your first appointment will be somewhat similar to your first visit to a new doctor. I will ask you questions to get a better understanding of what brought you in. We will use this information to decide on a treatment plan, including the modality we are going to use. I can explain each modality to you and tell you which one may work better for you. In the end, we will decide together how to move forward. Sometimes therapy may feel like speaking with a most trusted friend or family member. Sometimes, it may be practicing some coping skills to prepare to delve deeper into a subject. So it really does depend. One thing is certain. You will not be forced to talk about something you're not ready to yet. You set the pace and the goals. We work together to achieve those goals.

I believe quality mental health counseling should be available to everyone. I know money is tight, so in order to reach everyone, I offer a sliding scale. You can choose to sign up through  Home - Open Path Psychotherapy Collective . Or you can do it through Courageous Pathways Counseling directly. My sliding scale is your yearly salary multiplied by .001.  If your yearly salary is under $40,000, then you would pay the rate of $40 per session. If you make over $90,000 per year, then you will pay the regular rate of $100. per session hour for individual sessions. Couples therapy starts at $100. per session. Contact me for more information.
